Afterschool.ae founder Joanna Santillan was featured on UAE's The National, a government-owned English-language daily newspaper in Abu Dhabi. The article is entitled: "Day in the life: Dubai entrepreneur in after-school specialty". The article is a series that sought to know how entrepreneurs and business executives spend their day normally.
In the feature, she shares her day-starting at 6:30 am preparing her kids and ending at 11:00 pm to rest early. She spends most of the day at work, developing her company and overseeing its operations. However, she still finds time being a mum to her three kids-picking them up at school and after school activities, cooking for them, and helping them with homework.
In just a little more than a year, Joanna Santillan has grown Afterschool.ae to cover the whole of UAE. She aims to expand its reach to across the Gulf Cooperation Council-a political and economic union of Arab states in the Persian Gulf. It is comprised of countries such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Omar, and UAE.
Joanna Santillan has been living in Dubai for the past 10 years, going back to her motherland, the Philippines, every once in a while. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Lyceum in the nation's capital, Manila.
