PLOVDIV, Bulgaria - The Wallet Material Transparency Audit 2026, published this week by EU wallet manufacturer COLDFIRE, evaluated 24 wallet and EDC brands on nine criteria of public material disclosure: named tanneries, composite and thread manufacturers, titanium grades, manufacturing origin, warranties, repair policies, certifications and supply chain documentation. The audit used only information publicly accessible on each brand's official website on 2 July 2026. Every finding carries a source URL, published in a full evidence table.
Key results include the following. Only 1 of 24 brands publishes a supplier list. Only 1 of 24 names its thread manufacturer. None of the audited carbon fiber wallet brands identifies its composite maker. 18 of 24 brands do not name their tannery. The audit also documents eight cases in which a brand's own pages contradict each other. The audit does not evaluate product quality, durability or design. It measures only what a customer can verify from the brand's own public documentation. COLDFIRE, which publishes its own full bill of materials and supplier names, excluded itself from the ranking. The methodology, scoring rules, limitations and a changelog are public, and the audit invites corrections. Brands that publish new documentation can submit it for review, and the audit will be updated. The criteria will remain unchanged for the 2027 edition so that results remain comparable over time.
