Marielle Coeytaux Britton, Instructor for Voice Yourself, has been selected as a VIP Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Coeytaux, a certified emotional literacy trainer, who is also certified in mediation, began working in her field in Europe in 1998.
Born in Tunisia to a French father and Swiss mother, Coeytaux and her family immigrated to the US in 1957 and grew up in the state of California. After graduating high school she spent a year as an exchange student in Yougoslavia and then studied at UC Berkeley. There, she met her future husband and decided to move to France to be with him, marry, and raise her four children. It was in France that she learned the Latin/patriarchal notion of authority and perceived the negative effects it had on its people, which encouraged her to teach mediation, emotional literacy, cooperation, and healthy leadership from 1998-2004. In 2006, she returned to the US.
Now holding workshops on emotional literacy and conferences on bullying, Coeytaux shows how political structures empower or disempower their members and how they affect them emotionally.
With her past experience in teaching conflict resolution skills to teachers and health workers, and having written and published a book on legitimized bullying, titled 'The French Malaise, the Pyramid of Control', Coeytaux has dedicated her career to something she is very passionate about - liberty and justice for all.
Hoping to continue working in the field and help people understand democracy and all its advantages, Coeytaux would like more individuals to understand equal opportunity for all and "to become pilot in command of their life."
Coeytaux is a licensed pilot and a member of several pilots associations. She was the recipient of a Best Citizen Award from her home town in Normandy in 1997. In 2009, she was chosen to partake in the Napa Valley Leadership Program, who then honored her with Special Recognition for her community participation. In 2011, she received the Kiwanis Distinguished Service Award.
