About Daniel M. Burstein
Daniel M. Burstein is a senior managing director at Guidepost Solutions LLC. He has extensive experience in the areas of regulatory investigations and enforcement, compliance, commercial litigation, and internal investigations. His engagements include serving as interim chief compliance officer for a FinTech company engaged in cryptocurrency exchange and blockchain solutions; consulting on AML and related controls to a FinTech company developing a new government-backed digital currency; and serving as the Independent Compliance Consultant to a mortgage lender pursuant to a settlement with the U.S. government. Previously, as Executive Deputy Superintendent and Acting Chief of Staff for the New York State Department of Financial Services, he oversaw enforcement actions and operations. He also headed its Real Estate Finance Division and directed matters involving mortgage servicing and origination violations.
