Elie Hirschfeld, president of Hirschfeld Properties, a leading New York Real Estate Development Firm, celebrated today his 30th year as a trustee with the Continuum Health Partners group of hospitals. To mark the anniversary Hirschfeld announced additional donations, and with his new contributions his donations will total $1 Million to the institution.
Elie Hirschfeld began his philanthropic efforts in this area after his first two children were born at Roosevelt Hospital. The Hirschfeld Foundation now supports additional hospitals that have partnered with Roosevelt, including St. Luke's, Beth Israel, and the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. Elie Hirschfeld currently serves on the Board of Trustees for all these healthcare institutions. One in every four NYC hospital patients is treated by this group.
"It is my honor to support institutions such as Continuum Health Partners and be involved with the vital work that they do. I enjoy giving and supporting these important institutions which have impacted my life, and those of my fellow New Yorkers in so many special ways," said Elie Hirschfeld.
Elie Hirschfeld created the Elie Hirschfeld Foundation to direct his philanthropic efforts in support of education, healthcare, athletics, and Jewish causes. He serves as trustee emeritus of Brown University and Long Island University, Director of the U.S. Board of the Weizmann Institute of Science, and trustee of numerous New York City hospitals. He has served on the Board of Directors or Steering Committees of many other organizations, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Jewish National Fund.
