OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 6, 2011) - Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) congratulates the Government of Canada on its re-confirmation of the additional $40 million for investments in Canadian cleantech companies announced in today's Budget. "The cleantech sector has benefitted significantly from the project funding, investment de-risking and capacity building endeavours SDTC has undertaken," said Juergen Puetter, Chair of SDTC. "This investment, which was first announced in the March Budget, will allow continued support for the commercialization of promising Canadian clean technologies. Clean technologies deliver economic opportunities to both urban and rural communities across Canada. This additional $40 million will mobilize significant private sector investments into the cleantech sector - to date, SDTC has achieved leverages of up to $13 of private sector investments for a dollar of public money." |
