IgniteWA announces InnovateHER2017 business pitch competition winners for the State of Washington

IgniteWA and SBA jointly announce InnovateHER2017 business pitch competition winners for the State of Washington. Right Sciences wins the business pitch competition.
Ignite WA and U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is officially have announced the winner of the 2017 InnovateHER Washington State Pitch Competition. With presenting sponsor Salesforce, the City of Bellevue, Hewett Packard Enterprise, Meylah, Lady12s, Tuxedo Technologies and all sponsors, volunteers and community associations, we congratulate all these aspiring entrepreneurial women and outstanding community leaders who participated in this year's competition.

We are proud to announce that Right Sciences is our Washington State Winner and goes on to compete at the National InnovateHer Pitch Competition.

Right Sciences is a woman-owned company providing innovative products promoting overall health. This includes signature products of laboratory plant based patches for delivery health and wellness products.

"Congratulations to Right Sciences, all of the event participants, and the honored community heroes for pursuing their dreams and elevating women-owned businesses. Supporting women entrepreneurs is critical to achieving equality in the workplace, and we're honored to partner with the SBA to support these innovative women. " - Jamie Domenici, Vice President, Product Marketing

SBA created this challenge to empower women in the face of ongoing gender inequities in the technology and investment sectors. Women venture capital partners are stuck below 10 percent. The amount of venture capital funding that goes to women entrepreneurs is even lower - only about 4 percent. This is the second year that IgniteWA proudly organized and hosted the event attracting over 50 applicants and nearly 200 participants.

Along with Right Sciences, second and third runner-ups respectively were:

OTOGEAR Inc, a stylish, customizable, environmentally friendly, reusable earplug attachment designed to help make hearing protection more accessible and attractive to the general population.

EskeStyle, which develops contact lens cases that are antibacterial. The antibacterial properties come from the medical grade material that Eske cases are made of, along with the fabrication process during production, that reduces biofilm formation.

As part of the evening festivities, IgniteWA presented community hero awards to the following individuals for their exemplary services with the small business community to drive digital transformation activities:

1. Lisa White, Economic Development Lead from the US Small Business Administration
