Vint Cerf, one of the “Fathers of the Internet,” and Dan Lynch, Founder of Interop, will join ONUG’s Co-Founder and Co-Chair Nick Lippis for an opening keynote discussion at the ONUG Fall conference, taking place October 14-15, 2020. John Willis, Sr. Director of the Global Transformation Office at Red Hat and Zhen Fan, Director of IT at FedEx, will also join for an insightful presentation on the role of the enterprise cloud in the future of corporate survival. Together, this gathering of industry visionaries will discuss the path to open standards in the cloud and the ONUG-led efforts to develop a Cloud Security Notification Framework (CSNF). The goal of CSNF is to create common definitions and syntax for important security events, alerts, alarms and notifications. CSNF is SNMP for the cloud era.
“As we consume more cloud services from multiple cloud providers, enterprises are having to deal with disparate security notification frameworks. The goal of the ONUG Collaborative and this CSNF initiative, which we will be discussing at ONUG Fall, is to provide standardization around these definitions and syntax of key security notifications,” says Nick Lippis. The goal of CSNF is to better leverage expensive tools and mitigate staff bloat by gaining cloud transparency and dashboards that enable a shared responsibility model between large enterprise consumers and their multiple cloud providers.
