Roselle, NJ - Linda Galarreta, Assistant Director, Inroads To Opportunities, a Union County, NJ based non-profit human services agency that provides programs and services to individuals with disabilities, was recently awarded the SHERO Award by the Union County Board of Commissioners.
The prestigious SHERO Award celebrates the remarkable achievements of women who have made significant and lasting contributions to their communities.
This accolade recognizes the strength, resilience, and unwavering commitment of local “SHEROs”—women who lead by example, uplift those around them, and serve as beacons of inspiration across Union County, NJ. Whether through their work in education, public service, healthcare, business, the arts, or community activism, these honorees embody the spirit of leadership and service. The SHERO Award pays tribute to their courage and dedication, honoring their vital role in shaping a more just, inclusive, and empowered future for all.
Galerreta’s work has resonated throughout Union County, NJ. With a deep commitment to community empowerment, she plans to continue making a lasting impact throughout Union County and across New Jersey.
ABOUT LINDA GALARRETA:
Linda Galarreta, a Roselle, NJ resident, is the Assistant Director at Inroads to Opportunities. She is a current board member of Roselle’s Multicultural & Inclusion Committee and also holds the position of President of the Special Education Parent Advocacy Group (SEPAG) of the Roselle Board of Education. Linda was recently awarded the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award by Roselle, NJ, Councilwoman Denise Wilkerson.
In addition to being a proactive advocate of disabilities, Galarreta is also the mother to three young boys, where the two youngest are on the autism spectrum. She recently received her Master’s in Social Work from Seton Hall University.
Linda has a proven track record of tireless dedication to creating a better world filled with hope and care for individuals with disabilities.
ABOUT INROADS TO OPPORTUNITIES:
Since 1959, the Occupational Center of Union County, DBA Inroads to Opportunities, a 501 c3 non-profit, social services agency has been providing programs and services to over 400 individuals annually with various types of disabilities and ranging in age from 16 through retirement, many of whom are economically disadvantaged. Programs and services include transition from school to work, vocational preparation, certificate training programs, job placement & coaching, day habilitation, and mental health services. Based in Roselle, NJ, Inroads to Opportunities supports individuals throughout northern and central New Jersey.
Celebrating its 66th year, Inroads to Opportunities is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), an approved provider of the NJ Department of Labor, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services, and Commission of the Blind and Visually Impaired. Inroads is licensed by the State of New Jersey Department of Human Services, NJ Division of Mental Health, and Addiction Services to provide partial care and the Division of Developmental Disabilities to provide Day Habilitation, Pre-Vocational and Transportation Services. Inroads is an approved Medicaid provider and an approved Employment Network under the Ticket to Work Social Security initiative and an approved Benefits Planning and Counseling Service through the NJ Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services.
