Roseland, New Jersey – Janet Loren, Certified Educational Planner (CEP) and Partner at College Benefits Research Group (CBRG), was recently interviewed by Jay Trelease, Host, WFME 1560 AM.
During the interview, Loren stresses the importance of ensuring the right financial, academic and social fit for the student. Loren said, “When students are looking at their college choices, many will say they want to go to the school that is the most selective. But new research is showing it is often more important that the student is in the top 10-15% of their school rather than where they attend.”
“Colleges will use resources to help their students such as internships and research opportunities. Colleges love to see their best and their brightest succeed,” said Loren.
Ms. Loren’s expertise in colleges, their academic offerings, cultures, and admissions help her to guide students in school selection, high school course selection, determining college majors, and on the essay portion of the application. In her position at CBRG, Janet works and builds relationships with traditional high school seniors, transfer students, and their families to help them find the “right fit” schools. She provides a list of higher-education options, gives guidance on standardized tests and test prep, recommends secondary school programs and courses to strengthen the academic resume, and advises on summer programs and internships.
