Organization Formed To Position Women Lawyers To Serve On Boards Of Public Companies Selects General Counsel For Muriel, Siebert, Co., Inc. To Attend Institute. |

Jeanne Rosendale, EVP, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Human Resources for Muriel Siebert Co., Inc., attended the DirectWomen Board Institute from January 22-24 in New York City. DirectWomen, an organization formed to position women lawyers to serve on boards of public companies, selects a group of qualified women lawyers from a competitive pool of applicants across the country to participate in the three-day program.
At the DirectWomen Board Institute Rosendale attended informational sessions on key issues facing current and future corporate directors and had the opportunity to interact with Institute alumnae and past honorees. The Institute was co-chaired by Professor Hillary A. Sale, Walter D. Coles Professor of Law and Professor of Management at Washington University in St. Louis and Professor Lisa M. Fairfax, Leroy Sorenson Merrifield Research Professor of Law at the George Washington University Law School. Institute faculty featured leading experts on corporate governance as well as experienced directors and officers of large public companies. Speakers covered topics such as the role and work of nominating board members, the evolving nature of shareholder relations, the strategic role of audit committees and the role of executive search firms in board searches.
Rosendale is an expert on issues relating to publicly traded companies and corporate governance, and on regulatory matters pertaining to financial service firms, publicly traded companies, and highly regulated companies. Prior to joining Siebert, Rosendale held the positions of General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for TD Securities (USA) Inc. and Global Chief Compliance Officer for Knight Equity Markets. In each role Rosendale was a key advisor to the boards of directors and audit committees on matters pertaining to corporate governance including proper disclosure of publicly filed regulatory documents. She assisted the audit committees of Siebert and TD on internal investigations and whistle blower claims where each firm was exonerated.
Rosendale began her legal career with the prestigious law firm Weil Gotshal Manges, LLP in the Firm's corporate governance and securities litigation department, and has held senior level legal positions with Citigroup and Credit Suisse. She is active in various industry groups such as the SIFMA Compliance and Legal Division and is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors. Ms. Rosendale received both her B.A. and Law Degree, with honors, from Fordham University and its School of Law, respectively.
