Redondo Beach, CA - The newly created Lonely Seal Online Film Festival is gifting $100,000 of in-kind prizes during its inaugural festival, which takes place August 17-24, 2018. Submissions open exclusively on FilmFreeway today, January 31.
"I’ve been a judge, filmmaker advisor, panelist and screener at several film festivals since 1997, so it’s time for me to spearhead a new digital showcase designed to enhance opportunities for filmmakers through new technologies," said Hammad Zaidi, the founder and festival director.
The Lonely Seal Online Film Festival offers four competition categories; feature films, short films, documentaries and web series.
Six prizes totaling $100,000 will be awarded, including one $10,000 in-kind package for each of our four category winners, an additional $10,000 in-kind package for the winner of the Best Woman Filmmaker award, and a $50,000 in-kind package for our Grand Prize Winner. Each $10,000 in-kind package will include a $5,000 custom app, a $3,800 custom website and $1,200 of web hosting on a virtual private server. Furthermore, the $50,000 Grand Prize includes $36,000 of SEO services over one year, a $7,800 custom website with a custom theme and logo, a $1,200 web-hosting plan for one-year on a virtual private server and a $5,000 custom app.
Lonely Seal also promises a game-changing viewing experience. “I’m ridiculously giddy about the technology we’re going to unleash during our festival,” said Jonathan Nadeau, Lonely Seal's Chief Technology Officer.
