New Music by Circle, Cover of Bruce Springsteen classic track I'm on Fire |

After the critical albeit underground success of September Gurls, Circle's first Chicken or Egg single release by Big Star, the band headed back into Enmore Audio, their local recording studio and sprinkled their magic all over the classic Bruce Springsteen's I'm on Fire. |

For those who don't know Circle, they've been around the new music traps in Sydney for a couple of years now experimenting with thoughtful and intelligent indie pop music and in the process honing their skills both as a live band and as songwriters. In that time they've released two albums and an EP. The first, Just Keep Swimming, was under local label Creative Vibes who in a bizarre twist of fate folded after 15 successful years. Left reeling the band set out on a string of local and interstate gigs and in the process recorded their yet to be released album Molasses Sandwiches. Patience it would seem, paid off as the band held off releasing it and after more than 12 months of having the album in their drawer, the band won a $12K US comp which saw it pressed and distributed across the US College Radio circuit. In the meantime the band dropped a quirky little EP called Xmas Omas which iTunes hailed as a band to look out for in 2011. The single Henry James continues to sell several digital copies a week.
The band's singer and main songwriter Radi Safi was busy with his own side project Enmore Audio during the last 6 months of 2010 and both the band and the studio needed an excuse to break things in. Circle decided on a covers project after the online success of their Elliott Smith cover which was filmed live by a local fan. The first single was Big Star's September Gurls and this week's release, the second in a string of at least half a dozen is the classic I'm on Fire by Bruce Springsteen. Recorded mixed and mastered by the band in Enmore Audio.
