In a wide-ranging conversation with Host Romeo Perlman, Dumbroff addressed her alternate view of codependency in various relationships.
Dumbroff perspective is people’s behavior make sense given their personal histories. She emphasized self-awareness and setting good boundaries as useful tools.
When speaking on the challenges of addressing issues, she stated, “It takes way more courage to peel back the defensive blanket of anger or toughness to see whatever softness is underneath there; the vulnerable parts. We really can’t help how we feel, but we can help what we do.”
