Chennai - Omega Healthcare, the global leader in offshore Healthcare KPO/BPO offering Medical Coding, Billing, Accounts Receivable Management, Claims Processing and Revenue Cycle Management services, today announced the opening of its second facility in Trichy and the fourth in the country. Omega's other two facilities are located at Bangalore and Chennai.

The new facility will meet increasing customer demand and support the rapidly expanding US$ 400 million offshore healthcare revenue cycle market in India that is now growing at a rate of 30% to 35% a year. The outsourced market in the healthcare revenue cycle segment is estimated to be around US$ 8 billion. The entire healthcare revenue cycle market in India today employs about 20,000 to 25,000 people.

Speaking on the launch of the new facility in Trichy, Mr. Gopi Natarajan, Co-Founder and CEO, Omega Healthcare said, "Omega has had resounding success with its first facility in the city that was opened in the year 2011. The second facility is set up to meet the increasing demand of the offshore healthcare services market. As a company, we are projected to grow at 30% to 35% next fiscal, and we are also planning to recruit 1,500 professionals in Trichy alone by September 2014 as part of our expansion plans taking the total company headcount to 5,700".
Omega is hiring three types of people: Graduates with Life Science degrees like, Biology, Microbiology, Physio therapy, biochemistry, nursing etc., for medical coding; for Data entry work, candidates with very good typing skills and analytical abilities; for voice-based Accounts Receivable work, graduates with excellent oral communication skills and an analytical mind-set.

"Both the centers are in the heart of the city and well connected to the rail and road networks and together cover an area of almost 50,000 square feet and will make Trichy our largest delivery location ", Mr. Gopi Natarajan added.
Currently, the US offers the most opportunities in healthcare outsourcing services. It also has the most complex healthcare administrative processes and lends itself very well to using the services for back-office and knowledge based services in India. The Obama Care (healthcare reform) plan when implemented is expected to increase the volume of work being outsourced. In addition to this, the transition of the US healthcare industry from ICD-9 to ICD-10 for the medical coding system is expected to be as big as the Y2K conversion and benefit the Indian healthcare outsourcing industry in a big way.
