Owners of Rocksolid Surfaces in Cleveland Ohio Recognized for their Philanthropic Contributions |

Over $140,000 Raised in Support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). For the past five years, J.B. Walsh, President of Rocksolid Surfaces, along with family friend, Dan Clevenger have been co-chairing The Leukemia Cup Regatta at The Cleveland Yachting Club (CYC). By sailing their boat, J.B. and Dan have raised over $70,000 in support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). They raise money because they feel passionate about the cause of helping find treatments and cures for blood cancers.
"Supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has always held a very special place in my heart," said J.B. Walsh, President of Rocksolid Surfaces in Cleveland, Ohio. “We're always thrilled to have The Cleveland Yachting Club host this important event, along with all of the boaters that join us who share in our passion to raise money and support for LLS," said Walsh.
John Walsh, Co-Owner of Rocksolid Surfaces also helped raise over $70,000 through the Leukemia Cup Regatta at the Isles Yacht Club in Punta Gorda, Florida. John Walsh along with shipmate, Jim Nuzzo have sailed the top fundraising boat the last four years for their local Leukemia Cup Regatta in Punta Gorda.
When John Walsh is asked about the camaraderie between boaters and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, he stated, “Both sailing crews and cancer patients face challenges. The difference is we race by choice; patients and their families don’t choose their disease. I encourage all boaters to get involved with a local Leukemia Cup Regatta. The rewards of getting involved and raising funds and awareness are beyond words.“
The Daniel D. Dauby Award Presented to Patrick Walsh.
The 2018 Dauby Award was proudly presented to Patrick Walsh, VP of Finance at Rocksolid Surfaces for his extensive philanthropic commitment to the Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center (CHSC).
Established in 2006 to honor individuals with a long history of support to CHSC, Dauby Award winners are recognized for their positive impact on people in our Cleveland, Ohio community who experience hearing loss; speech, language, or learning disorders; and/or deafness.
Pat joined the CHSC Board of Directors in 1984, and, with his broad background in finance management was appointed Treasurer. He has been an active member of the board ever since, including chairing the finance committee.
He and his wife, Mary, have been extremely generous, and are members of the Garfield Society and the Great Communicators Society. As a CHCS board member, Pat gave one of the largest gifts in 2008, which in part, funded construction projects around University Circle.
