Westfield, NJ - Sam Rockaway, Vice President of Sales at REDCOM Design & Construction, recently was a guest on the ‘Daily Drive’ podcast. REDCOM specializes in commercial design-build engineering, architecture, and construction. Rockaway joined Host Jamie Butters to explore how dealership construction reflects retailers' efforts to adapt to the electric vehicle (EV) transition.
In conversation with Butters, Rockaway emphasized the significance of maintaining consistent brand designs across dealerships while recognizing the unique considerations of each site. He stated, “Although the building may look the same as every other building, the sites are all different. The site really dictates what you can build.”
Rockaway further discussed the impact of the EV trend on dealerships. He explained, “We do get a lot of calls to install EV chargers at the dealers' stores, and it's an invasive procedure, it's expensive, and none of the dealers have enough electric to run them, so they always generally have to upgrade their service. It’s a significant investment for the dealer.”
