About Richard J. Cayo
Richard Cayo is president of the Milwaukee law firm of Halling & Cayo, S.C. The largest component of his practice consists of defending lawyers in discipline matters, advising law firms regarding ethics and malpractice issues, and serving as an expert witness concerning lawyer’s professional responsibility. Mr. Cayo is a frequent author and speaker on the Wisconsin Supreme Court Rules regulating lawyers. He earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Wisconsin. Mr. Cayo is a member of the Milwaukee Bar Association (Board of Directors 1995-98), the State Bar of Wisconsin (Litigation Section, Board of Governors (1992-99) and is a past member of the National Organization of Bar Counsel and the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers. Richard has served on committees appointed by the Wisconsin Supreme Court and the State Bar of Wisconsin to review the Model Rules of Professional Responsibility. His practice also includes workers compensation for plaintiffs and claims by investors against securities brokers.
