Securities America Promotes Vaughan, Jorgensen

Securities America has appointed David Vaughan to the position of first vice president of finance and has promoted Melissa Jorgensen to the position of controller.
LA VISTA, Neb. -As first vice president of finance, Vaughan will be responsible for financial reporting, forecasting, planning, treasury and cash management for the company. Vaughan joined Securities America in 1994 as a new accounts processor. He moved to the Accounting Department in 1996, was named Securities America's "Manager of the Year" in 2007 and was promoted to first vice president, controller in 2008. Vaughan graduated from Creighton University with a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance and earned his master's in business administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He holds the series 7, 24 and 27 financial industry licenses and the Certified Public Accountant designation.

As controller, Jorgensen will provide leadership, analysis, planning and direction in the accounting area for all Securities America Financial Corp. companies. Jorgensen joined Securities America in 2005 as an analyst. Jorgensen named Securities America's "Employee of the Year" in 2007 and was promoted to a senior analyst in 2009. Jorgensen earned an associate's degree in business management from Metropolitan Community College in 1998 and a bachelor's degree in management from Bellevue University in 2003. She completed her master's degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance from Bellevue University in August 2011. She holds the series 27 securities license.
