Despite a weak economy and their fair share of setbacks, Tavalon Tea has steadily grown as a premium loose leaf tea brand in the past 6 years. At the end of 2010, Tavalon announced that they not only were accepted into one of the largest gourmet food distributors, UNFI, but were also approved as a vendor for the foodservice giant Aramark.
Tavalon Tea opened a kiosk in the JP Morgan Chase headquarters in Manhattan, as well as being served in the cafeterias of ABC/ Disney, Goldman Sachs and Price Waterhouse Coopers, all of which have been met with thirsty enthusiasm.
Because of these and many other accomplishments, the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce (USPAACC) has chosen Tavalon's CEO, John-Paul Lee, as a 2011 Top Ten Asian American Business Award winner. The awards ceremony, which will take place on May 3rd at the New York Times Conference Center, will also feature Tavalon's teas within the gift bags for attendees.
