On July 30, 2013, "Leveraging Socioeconomic Certifications," the next course in the Government Contracting Institute will provide attendees with the skills necessary to use their certifications effectively in the government marketplace. The course, sponsored by bwtech@UMBC and TargetGov starts at 8:30am and lasts until 4:00pm, breakfast and lunch is included. Course instructor Monica Randall, MBA and Owner of The Randall Group, has over twenty years of experience working for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). She has also worked as a Marketing Specialist as well as a Business Consultant in the SBA's 8(a) program. As a subject matter expert, Monica Randall will be able to provide attendees with the strategy they need to see success in federal contracting.
Topics covered in the course include leveraging the various socioeconomic certifications (8(a), Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB), and Economically Disadvantaged Women Owned Small Business (EDWOSB)) for more opportunities, how the government buys, the advantages/disadvantages of GSA Schedules, how to explore subcontracting opportunities, and much more to help prepare companies for the complicated world of doing business with the government.
