In 2019, the final regulations for Qualified Opportunity Funds (QOF) issued by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) were sent to the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) for review. The final rulemaking to be published by the Office of the Federal Register is expected to clarify a number of issues including data gathering and reporting, debt-financed distributions, and Section 1231 property.
