Toy and Other Consumer Goods Import Controls Published in Türkiye |
|
SGS reports on Türkiye’s new import controls for toys and other consumer products. |
|
Baar - SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 004.26, covering Türkiye’s update of three communiqués on import inspections for toys and other goods.
The communiqués were issued in December 2025 by the country’s Ministry of Trade via the Risk-Based Control System for Foreign Trade (TAREKS), which monitors safety and quality inspections on imported goods. They were published as:
• Product Safety and Inspection: 2026/10 for toys
• Product Safety and Inspection: 2026/12 for consumer products
• Product Safety and Inspection: 2026/17 for maternity and baby products
SGS experts publish SafeGuardS to keep stakeholders informed about regulatory changes that could impact their business. SafeGuardS 004.26 includes summaries of the key changes applicable to each of the new import controls.
The communiqués specify the documents, including test reports, that must be uploaded to the TAREKS system, and which entered into force on January 1, 2026.
Stakeholders are encouraged to refer to the original SafeGuardS 004.26 for more details.
